Inbox Health Partner API Docs

Redesigning the Inbox Health developer portal: the content, the design, and the React build.

Director of Product Design · 2026 · Inbox Health

A third-party vendor had built a non-functional integration from our old API docs, and it affected multiple client enterprises. I redesigned the Inbox Health API experience for developers and partners, from a bare list of endpoints to documentation with what each field means, use cases, and a place to test calls. I wrote the content, designed the docs site, and built it in React.

The difficult part

What shaped the work

The old docs had already failed in production: a vendor built a non-functional integration from them, and it affected multiple client enterprises.

Who I worked with

The docs serve partners, integration vendors and our own sales team, which uses them in landing new clients. I wrote them from internal knowledge that a generic API reference does not carry.

The Problem

The old docs had already caused a broken integration

The old reference was a bare list of endpoints. A third-party vendor built an integration from it that did not work, and it affected multiple client enterprises.

What I Built

Content, design, and code

I redesigned the developer experience around what a partner needs to get right: what each field means, use cases, and a place to test calls. I wrote the content, publishing internal knowledge a generic API reference lacks, designed the docs site, and built it in React. It shipped with a guide to using Inbox Health as a payment gateway.

A copy-for-LLM button puts a Markdown transcript of the docs on the clipboard, ready for any LLM.

Result

Partners and sales

The portal opened partnership and integration conversations and supports sales in landing new clients. I also modernized the front-end stack and measured developer experience across the Inbox Health API and the Inbox Health app.
